IMPORTANT NOTE: 
 
All Even numbered Regions will host elections for Region President and Region Vice President during their spring meeting. The officers of each Region shall have the responsibility to promote activities to increase membership, create interest in the mission of the Association and implement Association policy. They shall also consider and act upon matters of local interest and shall assist the Association as required.(GPhA Bylaws Article XI, Section 5).

JOIN THE GPhA BOARD OF DIRECTORS!
NOMINATIONS CLOSE FRIDAY, MARCH 27
 
Beginning this summer, the Georgia Pharmacy Association has four Board of Directors positions opening up -- three At-Large positions and one Academy of Clinical and Health System Pharmacy (ACHP) representative. 
 
This is your opportunity to personally enhance the profession of pharmacy and strategically guide the Georgia Pharmacy Association into the future. Please consider submitting your application to the GPhA Nominating Committee now. 
 
 
Four positions will be filled through an election process – three Board Members At-Large and one ACHP Representative. Board members will serve a three-year term through the summer of 2029. Nominations will close on March 27, 2026.  
 
Eligible At-Large Board Members must be: 
  1. Active members, Honorary Active members, or Emeritus members in good standing with GPhA (GPhA Bylaws, Article 3, Section1 - 8). 
  2. Only members in good standing for at least two consecutive years shall be eligible to be elected to the board (GPhA Bylaws, Article 4, Section 2).  
Eligible ACHP Representative on the GPhA board must be:  
  1. Active members, Honorary Active members, or Emeritus members in good standing with GPhA (GPhA Bylaws, Article 3, Section 1 - 8). 
  2. Only members in good standing for at least two consecutive years shall be eligible to be elected to the board (GPhA Bylaws, Article 4, Section 2). 
  3. Active voting member of the Academy of Clinical and Health System Pharmacy (GPhA Bylaws, Article 4, Section 3).  
 
Members Not Eligible to serve include (GPhA Bylaws, Article 4, Section 2):   
1. No currently employed staff member, former staff member who was employed by the Association at any time during the previous two years, or Voting Member who has an immediate family member currently serving on the Board shall be eligible for membership on the Board.   
2. No more than two (2) Voting Members who are owners or employees of the same company or enterprise may serve on the Board simultaneously.   
3. The chairperson of an Academy shall not be eligible to serve concurrently as one of the three (3) Academy elected positions on the Board.  
 
 
What to Expect on the Board of Directors
 
Eligible candidates should submit their name to the GPhA Nominating Committee or alternatively Nomination by Petition as listed below. 
 
Nominations will close on March 27, 2026. Shortly after, the Nominating Committee will review all applications and give recommendations to the Board of Directors. 
Voting will be conducted electronically beginning Monday, May 18, 2026, and ending on Thursday, June 13, 2026, at midnight. Prevailing candidates will be announced and installed during the GPhA Annual Membership Meeting at the Georgia Pharmacy Convention, Friday June 19, 2026. 
 
Eligible voters for the At-Large positions are those that are active members, honorary active members and emeritus members of GPhA. Eligible voters for the ACHP representative positions are those that are active members, honorary active members and emeritus members of GPhA and who are also voting members of ACHP.

Article 5, Section 4 - Nomination by Petition  
Candidates may also be nominated by petition. If a candidate is nominated by petition signed by at least five percent (5%) of the Voting Membership for an At-Large position, or by at least five percent (5%) of the Voting Membership of an Academy for an Academy-elected position, the ballot submitted to the respective Voting Members must include the name of the petition-nominated candidate(s), and will identify those recommended by the Board and those nominated by petition. If there are petition-nominated candidates, the ballot may include more than the number of candidates stipulated in Article V, Section 6 below.
