Day at the Dome

Once a year, hundreds of Georgia pharmacy students put on their white coats and gather at the Georgia State Capitol for Day at the Dome, GPhA’s annual advocacy events just for Georgia student pharmacists. Day at the Dome is free and it’s your way to learn more about legislative advocacy, have your voice heard — and have more than a little fun in the process. You’ll join our advocacy staff to meet virtually-to-face with legislators, and you’ll see up close and personal how to advocate for pharmacists. GPhA and the Deans of all four pharmacy schools are busy planning the 2026 GPhA Day at the Dome in February 2026. Stay tuned for more details.

The GPhA Graduation Cord

Wear your GPhA membership proudly as you graduate with your PharmD by applying for the bronze GPhA graduation cord. It’s easy to qualify to wear the cord  – just be an active member of GPhA, and meet some of the following requirements:

  • Attending Region Meetings (maximum of two counting toward the total)
  • Attending AIP Meetings (maximum of two counting toward the total)
  • Attending the Georgia Pharmacy Association Convention at least once
  • Attending Policy on Tap meetings (maximum of one counting toward the total)

If you have any questions about qualifications or need more information, please contact one of your colleagues on the Student Leadership Board or email us at info@gpha.org.

Policy on Tap

Enjoy some beer while getting a primer on the side of pharmacy you don’t see in school — advocacy and legislation. Held at a local brewery, Policy on Tap is an informal gathering around food and drink, with updates on GPhA’s legislative priorities from our state legislators, lobbyists, and members of GPhA’s advocacy team. Students will learn about creation of bills, what issues are at the forefront of pharmacy in Georgia, and how they can work as advocates for the practice of pharmacy across the state. Stay tuned for the next Policy on Tap event.
