Medication Adherence 2.0
Presented by Christine Cline-Dahlman, CPhT
The expansion of roles for technicians have been evolving over the past 5 years but the global pandemic through COVID 19 has arranged for technicians to participate in clinical tasks that were once the specific area of a pharmacist. Patient Adherence still remains a priority for patient care but the technician role for adherence is no longer kept at the dispensing level. Interactive patient care is now taking place and it takes advanced training for a technician to serve the patient. This presentation will describe the specific areas of clinical patient care as they are connected to Patient Medication Adherence and the opportunities for Technicians.

Chris has been a technician for 12 years – it was her retirement plan. The past 5 have seen the fastest pace for technicians to experience expanded roles in their work. My initial goal was to live on the beach and work PRN in a retail pharmacy Today, pharmacy is too exciting to hang out on the beach!
