The Georgia Pharmacy Association is pleased to announce that GPhA’s Immunization Delivery Training program for Pharmacy Technicians has received recognition as an education provider for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board’s (PTCB) Immunization Administration Assessment-Based Certificate.

The program

GPhA offers Immunization Training for the Pharmacy Technician to help technicians become skilled in the administration of vaccines to patients as permitted by Georgia law. This course covers proper administration technique and includes the related areas for the legal details that permit pharmacy technicians to immunize in Georgia, vaccines / immunology, ordering vaccines with inventory management standards, billing and reimbursement, vaccine administration documentation.

Pharmacy technicians who are registered and in good standing with the state of Georgia are eligible to take this course. Upon passing they will meet the legal standard to be eligible to administer vaccines under the supervision of a credentialed immunizing pharmacist. National certification is not required to participate in this training nor is it required to immunize under Georgia law.

The course is accredited by ACPE and consists of 3 sections:

  1. 5.0 learning hours of on-demand self-study,
  2. 2.0 learning hours of LIVE, in-person training, and
  3. 1.0 learning hour for post-course review

A total of 8.0 learning hours meets Georgia law for a pharmacy technician to immunize patients and provides 0.80 CPE credits earned. This course is also recognized by PTCB to be eligible to sit for its Advanced Exam to earn its Immunization Administrative Assessment Based certificate.

Non-members: $249*

*Non-member rate includes a full GPhA Membership through August 31, 2025 for all attendees residing in the state of Georgia.

Registration

Once you have registered and have paid the fee, you will be sent an email with the link to begin the On-Demand self-study along with pertinent information to be ready for the LIVE in-person session.

Each section must be completed before you can begin the next session.

Cancellation policy

Cancellations made more than 7 days from the date of your program are subject to a $45 cancellation fee. No refunds are available for cancellations within 7 days of your program, however, substitutions are allowed.
